Puppetry…

How did I get here?

The art and creativity that goes into making a puppet and bringing it to life has always fascinated me. As I grow my career in the arts, I find myself continuing to be drawn into the world of puppets, especially as it pertains to education and telling stories. My mission as a puppeteer is to continue this incredible art form as a tool for entertainment and education for people of all ages.

Gutter Soup

This year, I was lucky enough to join the Gutter Soup production team where I worked as one of their lead puppeteers and a member of their art team. Gutter Soup is a satirical puppet musical feature-film that follows Juancho, a young Latino deli cashier, who faces the prejudice elitists of his city. The film looks to bring awareness to the resurgence of antisemitism and the consequences of history potentially repeating itself.

For the latest proof of concept, I created the collection of prop sausages (as seen in the middle picture), which I made completely by hand. I also helped make George and Fruitcake, two of the puppets featured in the most recent shoot.
